Object
This test evaluates the ability of cable sheath materials to maintain their integrity when
exposed to ultraviolet, UV, radiation due to sunlight or fluorescent lights, as applicable. This
maintenance of integrity is evaluated by measuring the retention of tensile strength and
elongation in the sheath of cable samples.
Requirements
After exposure, the average tensile and elongation of the test specimens shall be a minimum
of 80 % of the original value.
